How does UCee work?

  • In a typical stup, user A's computer is located in a private network at home or work and has access to Internet. When A logs on to UCee, it sends the private and public IP addresses of the computer to UCee.
  • Another user B does the same.
  • A informs UCee he/she wants to connect to B.
  • UCee sends IPs of B to A and vice versa.
  • A and B connects directly without going through another server.

Is it safe?

  • When user A informs UCee he/she wants to connect to B, UCee sends B's IP addresses to A. A then sets up IP filtering to allow only B's connection through.
  • Similarly, UCee sends IPs of A to B to setup IP filtering.
  • A and B connects directly. Any other attempted connection will fail.
