How does UCee work?

  • In a typical setup, user A's computer is located in a private network at home or work and has access to Internet. When A logs on to UCee, it sends the private and public IP addresses of the computer to UCee.
  • Another user B does the same.
  • A informs UCee he/she wants to connect to B.
  • UCee sends IPs of B to A and vice versa.
  • A and B connects directly without going through another server.

Is it safe?

  • When user A informs UCee he/she wants to connect to B, UCee sends B's IP addresses to A. A then sets up IP filtering to allow only B's connection through.
  • Similarly, UCee sends IPs of A to B to setup IP filtering.
  • A and B connects directly. Any other attempted connection will fail.

How do I ... ?

On Windows PC.

  • Click share→start on the menu bar. A second program starts. This program will keep on running in the background when you close UCee. The second one has to be running if you want to access your PC from another PC or an Android phone.
  • Click share→new on the menu bar. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window to setup files or folder you want to access from another device.
  • You can now close UCee. When you start UCee on another PC or an Android phone, you will see the files or folder you setup on MY PC page.

On Android phone.
